Appartamento Celeste

Simple apartment in the heart of the village of Sant'Antonio di Gallura, sleeps 2+

Appartamento Celeste is in the centre of Sant’Antonio di Gallura, in a residential street and shaded by a large orange tree.  This is a basic apartment, furnished in the Italian style with a mish-mash of furniture ranging from an antique Tuscan bread cupboard, to paintings by the owners’ brother, to 1970s glass tables.  It’s clean and functional, with good storage space.  There’s a bright living room, with corner kitchen area and dining table.  The living room has a large glass window facing west, which looks onto the orange tree and outside wall and window looking across the village, while the bedroom faces east with views out across the mountains towards Arzachena – lovely sunrises.

The apartment has one sizeable double bedroom.  There’s also a very small side room off the main bedroom with two full-sized beds, suitable for young children or adults who don’t mind the lack of space.  Note this room is small and has limited light from the adjacent main bedroom – sound travels between the two and it is very narrow – there is room for the beds plus a few clothes.

For anyone looking for a simple place to stay and enjoy the fresh mountain air but within easy (25 mins) reach of the coast and 20 mins to Olbia and its port/airport, this is a good-value base.

Who would enjoy Appartamento Celeste:  a couple or family with small children who are looking for good value and prefer to be away from the heat and bustle of the coastal resorts, or someone who likes to paint – the colours and quality of light in S.Antonio are particularly beautiful.

Local facilities

There are a few shops plus bars and restaurants, including traditional Sardinian restaurant La Pitraia (see Food & Wine section).  See Sant'Antonio di Gallura for more details on the village and what to do
