The Appartamento Celeste is in the centre of Sant’Antonio di Gallura, a village perched on top of a ridge with views in all directions across the mountains of Gallura.  The old centre of the village is pretty, grouped around the piazza and church of Sant’Antonio, with more modern apartments spilling out from the centre.

 

The apartment has one sizeable double bedroom, plus a divan in the living room which can sleep one or two, plus a small extra foldup bed suitable for a child of up to 12.  There’s a bright living room, with corner kitchen area, plus dining room.  The living room has a large glass window facing west, shaded by the orange tree outside, while the bedroom faces east with views out across the mountains – lovely sunrises. 

 

This is a basic apartment, furnished in the Italian style with a mish-mash of furniture ranging from an antique Tuscan bread cupboard, to paintings by the owners’ brother, to 1970s glass tables.  For anyone looking for a simple place to stay and enjoy the mountain air but within easy (25 mins) reach of the beaches, it’s a good base.
