Su Lithu sits on a hill above Bitti, a typical small rural town in the heart of the mountainous province of Nuoro.  It’s a comfortable hotel which is perfect for people who want to relax away from the main tourist centres, and is a very good base for exploring the island – the coast is just 35km away, with the beautiful beaches and coves of Cala Gonone (which also hosts a major jazz festival in the summer) and Cala Luna, but Bitti is well away from the seaside crowds in the peace of the mountains.  From here visitors can also explore Olbia and the Costa Smeralda, the west coast of Alghero and Bosa, and the lovely Gulf of Oristano in the east. 

The family who run it have filled the hotel with interesting decor, antiques and craft pieces from the local area, and are keen supporters of local craftspeople.  There's also a secluded pool and sun terrace.

If you want to get to know Sardinia better, especially its culture and food, Su Lithu is the place to do it.

"Für alle die nicht unbedingt am Küstentrubel schlafen möchten und viel Wert auf Erholung legen, dem sei das Hotel bestens empfohlen. Hoch oben über Bitti mit tollem Ausblick auch von der Restaurantterasse. Das Meer ist übrigens mit dem Auto in knapp 30 Minuten erreicht. Sehr empfehlenswert."         H, Berlin
